The begining of a new flower bed

This is the beginning stage of my new flower bed. My dad and husband knocked out the deck steps and  fulfilled my vision for this area perfectly. Now I'm having fun creating another flower bed and weaving vines through the lattice.

In the middle pot I have a Star Jasmine

On each side of the Star Jasmin I have two Lantanas

New Trellis

Thank you to my Dad and hubby who created this for me! :-)

I can't wait for spring to weave some climbing roses and vines! It will be a lot of fun to cluster some beautiful potted plants around the base as well.

2015 patio set assembly

Our beautiful Esperanzas.

I love how wild Esperanzas grow and their bright yellow bell shaped blooms.

Our SAMs order arrived!

Our patio set came in many pieces.
Thankfully we had a small team to help us assemble it all.

Beautiful! (and that's my mom)
We have made great use of it!
And the dogs love to sleep and play on top of the table lol

Support beams - early 2016

We had some strong winds that destabilized our fence. My dad and hubby put up a few temporary support beams. My dad has had to do the same to his fence a few times so he knew what to do. Eventually we will have to bite the bullet and get a new fence done by professionals, but honestly, we have more important things to do. I'm so thankful for the resourcefulness and wisdom my dad has when it comes to fixing things. It's slowly rubbing off on us! :-)
My dad and hubby have also had to replace several fence boards on the other side of the house because the neighbor's dogs behind us keep popping them off in their attempts to fight my dogs. Thankfully when they have successfully managed to get into our yard they were all bark and no bite. They actually just played and ran around with my dogs. And when I stomped my foot and pointed at the hole they had dug and belly crawled through and said, "Go home!" they obeyed immediately LOL. But it doesn't mean replacing boards and blocking the dogs' view of each other doesn't get frustrating. I guess interacting with each other is the highlight of all of our dogs' day, so whatever makes them happy! lol

FlashBack: Mom's Pinterest win 2013

My mom saw this idea on Pinterest. She made herself one and decided she want to make another IN MY YARD! Hey, I'm not complaining! It's super cute!

 Super easy Pinterest win!

She's so cute! Born with a green thumb!

TA-DA!

Also, I'm proud to say the succulents are still alive today!

FlashBack: Painting deck 2013

My dad and hubby painted our deck a few years ago. I found these pictures while updating my new computer and realized I had forgotten to share them.

Protecting our deck from the outside elements.

picking between several colors. We went with a grayish taupe (right).

Finished! The boards across the bottom of the deck are there to keep the dogs from playing under the deck. Eventually I want to put something nicer, but for now it's working.

Our backyard looks so different from this picture now.

FlashBack: Deck 2013

I don't know why I didn't post these pictures back when I took them, but I found them today  and wanted to share a few flash backs. I'll be posting an updated blog post with pictures of our back yard and deck in a few days. I'm waiting for our Crepe Myrtles to bloom :-)

When we first bought our house the back yard was a bit over grown, so we had it cleared out

Close up of our deck before we gave it a little face lift.

Winston is on a leash because we had not fixed out fence yet
